OctaneRender™ for LightWave™ 2.0 DAILY BUILD
Moderator: juanjgon
If you are using morphs over cloned objects, be sure to disable the "Instance LW clones" options in the render target root node editor. By default the plugin adds the LW clones as Octane instances to save memory, but this instances can't have independent deformations.kostache wrote:I have a problem with morphs. Octane refuse to render morphed states of object - always it looks like original shape. Why?

hello juanjo
I really need your help, cause for some customers i need to recalculate some old project (octane 1.5) but some of the renders were in exlusively in render region (juste the region was calculated, not the entire image).
i think your last built not working for that, could you post an update to fix this?
thanks a lot

The Lightwave native render region tool should work in the last release, what is your problem with the render region?sigmamoon wrote:hello juanjo

for me the "Borders Off" in "set limited region option" works like it's "Borders On". In fact I can't render the portion of a frame without is black border.juanjgon wrote:The Lightwave native render region tool should work in the last release, what is your problem with the render region?sigmamoon wrote:hello juanjo

I did many tests friday but monday i ll confirm it, i ll try new tests (v2.6.1)
Anyway, I d like to thank you to have fixed the loop option of the Image Editor panel for a image type sequence. Was a real problem for me at the v1.5 and friday i saw this option looks to work now.

OK i see juanjo but the Octane v1.5 did it, sniffjuanjgon wrote:Ahhh, yes, currently "Borders Off" render is not supported by Octane. Octane doesn't have this feature, and using the LW SDK the plugin can't crop the image, you are going to need to make it in post.

The lightwave's borders off version does still work by setting it up before you render, but it can't be done with the standalone's method of region rendering.
Pros:
- lightwaves method renders out only the area you want without having to quibble with the faded edging that the standalone method uses.
Cons:
- Post processing gets messed up as vignetting and bloom/glare are treated as though the region render is its own complete image.
- No ability to adjust the position or scale of the render region rendering.

To my side the border off the lightwave region doesn t work with the v.2.6.1 but i ll confirm tomorrow after to re test
My pro point.
When u make 2 longs animations with just a little area change is is better to save render time and dd place. A tiff 720p 32bit is about 14mo per frame. A border off region can save a huge place zven if u must composit in after effects.
Ur position and scale is not a problem cause u have all this control inside the numeric tab of the border off panel (if i understand ur description)
Anyway, everybody have ourself method we do not discuss about it. It s just about to have a regular updat thru all versions cause in production sometime u must go back from old projects and u got some bad surprises
Thķs for ur reply about my request
