R17.032 and R16.050 / Win7 / 2.24.2-TEST3.1

this bug was fixed in version 2.24.1 and is now back in 2.24.2-TEST3.1

steps to reproduce:

1. create a cube
2. create a standard c4d material
3. assign material to cube
4. copy the cube with ctrl+c
5. create new scene
6. paste the cube in new scene

everytime you paste the cube you get an duplicate of the assigned material in the material manager

There is a scene that I need to render the animation, it works only for the first time, when I click the render button again it crashes after PV is showing. I can't reproduce the problem with another scene setup, I made another simple scene or simplified the scene and it's ok.

is it possible, that in 2.24.2 Test 3.1 the render layer masks are totally messed up?

I have set up 4 layer masks ( ID1, ID2 ... ) with octane tags on the folder/first hirarchie.
All 4 masks are tottally crazy and have nothing to do with the objects in the corresponding folders.

Copying the tag to all children does not solve the problem.

Sorry, no scene becauese its too heavy

Any known hints about that in this test version?

Please help me on your posts. Doesn't help just some words. I have to spend lot of time to reproduce your scenarios.

But a simple scene will help a lot. I hope you would understand what i mean. Thanks!

"Resend only updated objects" did the trick
I always forget! Sorry!

But anyway, sometimes problems occure while working on special scenes
and for different reasons, I cannot upload them (too big, confidential etc. etc.)
I does not really help, creating a new small scene, when the promlem lies in
the working scene. Also often (with crashes) "no" bugreports are generated.

So therefore there's often only one way to ask for help -
to describe the problem as best as I can.

I know, that you better need the files, but I think, sometimes just reading
the describtion of a certain problem, you also can get the idear for a possible solution.

Please also understand this Ahmet!

Yes you forget, i see.
About samples, just a simple scene is enough. Otherwise i would not check the reports. Imagine that lot of people say somethings in a day. It's impossible to work on coding while i'm trying to answer and spend time to estimate how to reproduce. Even Maxon or other plugin devs always want a scene to reproduce.

Hi Ahmet,

sure, I understand that.
But downloading, opening and checking scene files takes more time I think.
In lots of situations I think, you already have a solution in mind, when reading the first lines.

And for that cases just writing:
Check if you set "send all scene data" f.e.
If this does not help, send your scene file...

.. this would be quicker, not?

As said, its not always possible to recreate problems or to send hughe scene files.

Send all data is completely changes the export structure. I think i wrote it several times in forums, manuals and video tutorials. That's the reason why i don't make it default. And why i did "All movable" default option for LV. Defaults are fine and avoid to do mistakes. I'm not sure why people always changes these. Perhaps i'll completely remove it. But i need to be sure about performance loss will not be a issue.

Also checking a scene is always best way to catch issues. There is numerious possibilities with a scene. Really hard to find or understand people what did. Also good to see people how work on plugin and makes some warnings or corrections.

I repeat again, i don't want to get work files if it's a problem. Just a small scene is enough. This is a general request not just for you. So you don't need to take it personally in this case.
