Thanks for the report. Is this happening consistently? I haven't noticed this issue with the scenes I am testing. Is there any way you can send us a scene where it happens?PolderAnimation wrote:When working with large abc files (1gb+) objects will disappear when working in the file. Only way to get the geo back is to restart octane.
For example when I change the texture to gamma 2.2 instead of 1 the geo is gone.
edit:
I also have it now when rendering. First half a min rendering is fine, then suddenly my memory of my vidoecard is almost empty and my render is becoming blacker and blacker.

Hi Octane Team,
My previous message stays without answer
I did test again, to double check that displacement behavior is not related to specific scene
I created simple UDIM plane and sphere. As you can see "Image tile" texture works correctly in the diffuse map slot of the material, but same map doesn't affect displacement at all
So I can confirm that displacement is not working with UDIM
Any comments and suggestions from OTOY?
Cheers

1. there is a bug with a total number of GPUs I have 18 network GPUs and 1 as the main one on the master total 19 plus 1 for denoiser. System keeps telling me I am exceeding 20 and keeps turning off one of the network PCs. Octane 3 does not give me this message
2. Also why on the second frame and so forth I still have to wait for 25 seconds before rendering starts. The whole scene (a subject moves through woods 5 mil polys scene and 4 itoo forests ) was loaded into vram and still 25 sec wait every frame and this is in octane 4. In octane 3 it is 30 seconds. I am not seeing this real time geometry processing at all. Almost like octane 3 as far as evaluation time
Thanks

Yes, image tile textures are not supported for displacement. For now the only way around it would be to bake the tile texture into a single image texture using the baking texture node.SergKlyosov wrote:Hi Octane Team,

Thank you for the reply, using baking node - displacement working now, but it has a bug with torn edges
I've attached screenshots. The texture is seamless across 4 udims, as you can see on render where only simple diffuse texture is used
But when the same seamless texture is applied to the displacement slot - It is creating torn edges in border areas.
Can it be fixed in a next release? Not working displacement it is a huge limitation at the moment and almost kills whole purpose of using UDIM in actual projects
Cheers

Denoiser looks amazing, except (and it's a biggie) anything behind a transparent specular surface gets reallly blurry. Mind you this is loading up an older 3.08 scene into octane 4 so perhaps the new specular model accounts for this. I really hope so, otherwise this amazing feature is almost pointless unless I avoid specular surfaces.

Hi Can you guys answer me please so I know what to do?

2. Where is Volume Denoiser in 3ds max located ?

Hello,
Thanks for you'r work,
It's very cool on a small scene but I have a big scene with many geometrie and the denoising closing octane immediatly...

I meet issues with Enabling/Disabling light IDs, it crashes randomly or lights are disabled even if enabled in the light IDs list.
Hard to identify when it happens, as said it's random but what often happens is that Octanes crashes when disabling/enabling a light ID.
