I’ll try again when I get home though.

I'm having some problems though. To be sure I wasn't doing anything stupid, I downlaoded the 2018.0.2 update so that I was starting on a new install.

I downloaded the Plugin.
I made sure I extracted the 2018 version
I coped the files you need to copy and put them in the bin folder (as normal) of the 2018.0.2 install
I added the plug in
I installed the menu tree.

Any ideas?
Hmm, you don't need to copy any file to the LightWave bin folder, this was a really old install procedure. All the needed files are now located in the same place used by the plugin .p file, so you only need:

- Extract the plugin folders from the .zip file to any HD location.
- Add to the Layout the plugin .p file (the one for your LightWave version)
- Add the menu branch

You don't need to make anything else and you don't need to copy anything to the LightWave folders.

Hope this helps,
-Juanjo

In LightWave 2018 all the images must be exported from the passes node, including the beauty pass. The new LightWave 2018 buffers system is not supported yet.

Yes, probably, but in any case, even in LW 2015, you needed to use the passes node to export any AOV. The LightWave image saving functions are used only for the beauty pass ... now in 2018 all the image files/paths must be configured in the passes node, even the beauty pass.

Juanjo,

Did the IPR selected feature get added to this build? I'm not seeing it on the menu, but maybe it's a command that I have to map to something? I thought I had remembered you saying it was ready for next build...I might be forgetting. Thanks.

Would it be possible, at some point, to shift click on a fiberFX surface in the IPR to open that surface in the node editor like we can do with regular surfaces ?

thanks for your answer.
It is very strange : if the pc is online, the plugin activation is OK :once disconnected with the same LW session, it still works but if i close LW 2018.02 & reopen a new session , when enabling octane, it asks to be connected to activate the plugin !...
The offline option is ghosted, so no access to it...

Yes, they are two additional commands that you can map to a key or add to a menu branch.

I'm not sure, but I think that until the offline licensing is fixed, you must be always connect to internet to enable the plugin.

Oh this would be nice, I've hated the 5-15 seconds I have to wait for licensing to activate, such a pain. I have 100 megabit connection...so it's not me :)
