Jaberwocky wrote:Hi guys

Got a bit of a problem.

I did something silly and set up a default setup in this version after renaming the all the default nodes.

2.46 / 2.45 will not now open up.They just crash.I have uninstalled/Reinstalled it - no go

Then unistalled and cleared out octane traces in the registry using Ccleaner and also searching and deleting manually all traces of octane. The rebooted and reinstalled Octane.Still no go.It will not boot.

Anyone know where the save as default config file is located so that i can delete it so that Octane returns to it;s default state.

Cheers for any help.
On Windows the default file is <user folder>\AppData\Roaming\Refractive Software\defaults.ocs

Cheers,
Marcus

Thanks Marcus i'll delete it and reinstall Octane.

What have you actually done? I just renamed all nodes in the preview configuration node to test and saved it as default and don't have any problems.

Cheers,
Marcus

I altered this node. Please see attached.

Maybe it needs locking off so that someone else doesn't do the same as me.

Well, I confirm what Jaberwocky experienced. I just renamed "Preview configuration" to "Config", saved as default and the next time Octane crashes (illegal instruction)

Thank you for this update.

For people who is asking for the zip version, just use 7zip and extract the exe, Octane works without installing!

Thanks for the material tooltip fix. Depending on your workflow, you just can't know what a big deal it is to see the material names on the nodes. I would prefer to have them visible at all times as an option. Too much to ask?

Sorry, I don't understand this. Where would you display which names?

Marcus

I don't know....maybe the node would change size to accommodate.
