Fireflies and poor lighting help

Hotpixel removal sets a treshold, not a "strength". Lower means more fireflies removed as far as I know. With hotpix removal 0.3, 3000+ samples and PMC, I usually get somewhat acceptable results in nightscenes with lots of reflective surfaces and lights.
