I've been testing it a bit more, it happens all the time with the current built, it doesn't with 2.4, and yes I meant mesh nodes, I created a new scene, loaded 2 different mesh nodes (also different ones from my current scene) and pretty simple ones, selected one and octane started running, rightclicked the second one and selected delete, then octane crashed with no message, just closed.
About the reports what I meant is that in previous builts from time to time at deleting some nodes (any kind) it crashed the same, but I couldn't repeat it even in the same scene, so it was quite ramdon and sporadic.

Is it just me or the animation renders only the 1st frame? Please try to reproduce (Blender 2.49b)

I have two things to mention, which are present in v5, but since I haven't seen anyone mention this, I suppose they are still there. Or not. Anyway:
* When you trigger the rendering of preview ball and then return back to your .obj, the DOF you set up previously for the scene is lost - focus point is lost & aperture behaves as if it's zero (even if it's not). You have to retype the aperture value (it must also be a different value that the one that is already set, or else DOF is not reset) and re-pick the focus point.
* If I save my scene when in material ball preview mode, when I re-load it, the camera position is re-set at 0,0,0

Well,
1 - This annoying splash screen is still there, blocking Windows popup warnings and preventing to click on proposed choices. Please, remove it ! It had been removed because of that, Why bringing back old troubles ?
2 - Cannot connect to server... So I can't test
Please check the server, reset my account if necessary...
Now, I get the message "wait for 58 minutes to activate an other machine on this account". I have only one computer able to run Octane ! Today, I have changed my secondary screen. Does this change the Computer ID

There is also a request! Make that Octane does not save their settings in the project file! And then have to re-configure the location of the windows when you start new project! Thank you!

unfortunately i can't play with the new toy as i would but at a first glance i like very much the new optimization of the node inspector and a big thanks for killing the black middle line bug with dual videocard

Hi, windows xp 32bit
cuda 3.00 gtx 470 driver 6.14.11.9730 fx 1700 quadro(display) driver 6.14.11.8630
the first pleasant surprise is that I opened a 1.022 beta 2.2b file and everything loaded perfectly!
I only had to assign emition and opacity materials
the speed from 1.022 2.2b is dicreased 0.83 megasamples/sec with maxdepth set to 16..
also my display card seems to have a slight delay which didn t have before.....
if this is due to my drivers please tell me so.
2.42 seems to be a great step....nice work

I'm afraid he is right.abstrax wrote:That's weird. Could you post some screenshots of it? I haven't observed that problem yet.ycarry wrote:think its Node Inspector...What tab are you referring too andrian ?
It disappear when choose/change mesh preview, materials, etc... clic on icon or image and its back again.
( here with CUDA 3.0 driver 258.96 Vista 32)

When clicking on a material in the preview window, and want to change it to either Diffuse, Glossy, Material Mix or specular in the Node Inspector, all the settings disappears until you go to the preview window again and click on the material.

My Live Account has been unlocked, and I have finally been able to test this 2.42 release in Cuda 3.0 version with Nvidia driver 258.96 (3.2 version still don't load obj and ocs on my external cards, and freezes the computer).
I can confirm that when changing from glossy for example for a material makes the node disappear in the Node inspector. Clicking on the image with the material picker brings it again.
I have finally tested this transparent shadow feature : nice !
And the correct path and obj name is fine !
Thanks for the good work Refractive team !
