face -> this should be fixed already and will be in the v5b release, eg the re-linking problem.

Regarding the random crashes, what's most important for us is that you try to determine if they are truly random or not.
If they are truly random, they could be a threading bug,
if not, eg, if they can be replicated by starting a new octane session, and duplicating the crash by doing exactly the same as the session before, then they are definitely bugs in the node graph connection system or a memory allocation bug.

Therefore it's important to try and find a way to replicate them, as that would save us a lot of head-aches. (if they are truely random it's very difficult to find out what it is if we can't replicate the exact same issue in our offices)

So if anyone notices a crash, just try to start a new octane session and do the same as you did before, and if it crashes again, please post procedure and if possible a test scene)

Regarding the 'assertion failed' in nodepin.*, this is likely a node-connection bug that's reproducible, so if anyone encounters the same, please consider posting a little procedure here to aid marcus in fixing it...

Thanks,
Radiance

I have been able to isolate one instance that freezes Octane. In the attached scene the material as a whole renders fine, but Octane always freezes when I click on the glossy material node inside the macro.
