I find that the highlight compression setting seems to forget itself every time I close the Render Target window.
I've also begun to have some issues with stability. There have been some situations where I would move the camera and suddenly I would see that the OR4C window would say Updating (which it only says Updating when the or4c is first initiated for the session.) Carrara puts up a sign saying An Error has Occurred.
It's only been a couple of times but in the past I never say any of this behavior, I'd leave it running for days on end with no issue.
Another issue is with some of the tools like Area rendering. I seem to have a devil of a time turning these features back off once its turned on. So say I am rendering a scene and I decide I want to view a smaller area, I simply enable the area render options and I draw out the area I want to render. But I find I cannot run it off to return to rendering the full scene. The only way has been to completely restart the render. If I remember correctly from the Stand-Alone version one did not have to restart the render.
I'm also still curious about Clay Rendering mode, is that coming down the line?
I also should mention how happy I am that render targets are saved and loaded with the scene each time it is reloaded.

Missed that one. Will be fixed in the next release.rashadcarter wrote:I find that the highlight compression setting seems to forget itself every time I close the Render Target window.
Updating always comes before Compiling. Minor updates just occur too fast to see the Updating/Compiling message.I've also begun to have some issues with stability. As for the crash, I need more to go on, (a sample scene and steps to repeat.)
To resume full area rendering just click on the image without moving the mouse. This is the same as in the standalone.Another issue is with some of the tools like Area rendering. I'm glad you are happy...I also should mention how happy I am that render targets are saved and loaded with the scene each time it is reloaded.

Thanks for the fix/update Sigman! I was having the same problem as Phil with a project last night, and the update seems to have fixed it
It looks like the render lock button isn't functioning any more. I've tested a couple of times, and with the render locked, changes in the scene in Carrara start a render update, and having manual focus selected and clicking on the image in the ORVP caused the render to refresh.

Sighman,
A belated BIG thankyou for putting network rendering in. I've been busy with remaking my DAZ productions into OCTANE renders, but from late Feb I'll be back permanently on Carrara / Octane.
I'll come back with testing of this great and useful facility after that time and after having raised some cash for the licence / cards etc.
Cheers!
