hm. is pretty hard to tell, but it should never take that long; more like a couple seconds. does the daz load dialog/porogress need that long to finish, or does the delay happen afterwards? can you try if unchecking "automatic material updates..." and "load octanerender materials..." in the preferences makes any difference?

there are still a few heavy changes going on underneath (i.e some modifications needed because of changes in ds 4.7 beta), so it may come from that. anyone else experiencing notable load delays?
seems that helped :) now its just few seconds as usual. the problem havent been the props itself... those appeared instant as usual, but textures and converting took that long time it seems. but... if i load primitives in the scene then its still the same problem... isnt that weird? :D
edit: and absolute stupid question... how can i load those materials for rendering then? lol i guess thats a really stupid question but i dont know how, never used it that way :) aaand... after i redid those checkmarks and loaded the duf file once again, all those octane surface settings seem to be gone... so its pretty useless for me i guess

I purchased an upgrade for v2 back in august when there was a free plugin upgrade included, but in my account the studio version is still only for v1.
If you have a free plug-in upgrade available (from the early upgrade offer for stand alone), you can simply go to the page for purchasing the the upgrade for the OcDS plug-in (select plug-in only, the 99 euro option), and "buy" it. The price should automatically go to zero if you have an available upgrade. Make sure you are logged in to you OTOY account. Worked for me.

Thanks, but it doesn't change to zero for me, it just stays at 99€ till i have to pay, which i'm not going to try.

can you please email otoy support about this? they will of course be able to resolve it...
The obvious is that which is never seen until someone expresses it simply

there is a button/menu in the mat tab called "create missing" it'll do materials for any daz surfaces which don't have one yet. you can also select one or more surfaces in the right tree, right click and use to context menu option(s) to create new materials.

if you load sthg. with the mentioned checkboxes unticked, and create mats afterwards, how long does it last then?

when "smart" unfolding, the plugin iterates quite a number of times over the structure, forth and back, to find the wiring with the least possible number of connections/external nodes, and here it seems to get into an endless loop. need to investigate...

feels like it needs even longer... now the reloading of my main figure (v6 hd) takes nearly as long as the complete scenery before did (grounds, 2 buildings, 4 other figures)

i am using the onboard gpu but i guess those crashes dont depend on it, because i can work in the scene without any lags or whatever.

it seems there is still some kind of "limit" depending on textures maybe... for example whatever i try to import now crashed the program after a looong time of waiting

Been having a small issue with the "Set Camera Focus to Scene Object" from time to time the screen goes solid white.
This happened to me too. Not sure entirely sure what triggers it. But I found that if you check the Octane camera parameters in the DS interface, the focal distance was set to ZERO. I was able to correct it in there after changing the limits and then it worked again. Maybe try that if it happens again so the we can see if it is consistent.

did an animation - works. Can't seem to 'stop' or pause the animation tho. Just keeps running. Yes a few times it zeroed out the focal distance. perhaps as a bad Baysian interpretation of a few camera positions? (I set frame 130 and 140 and frame 134 blanked, for example).

thanks
