that seems to be sthg. different; more like the updater could not replace all needed files. either try to run the updater with right click and select "run as adminstrator" (should not be necessary) or try to clean out the studio install by hand (ideally moving away the old files, not deleting them - just in case).

the proper (minimal) file structure should be:
...\DAZStudio4*or whatever it is called*\octane.dll
...\DAZStudio4*or whatever it is called*\octane.dat
...\DAZStudio4*or whatever it is called*\vcomp100.dll
...\DAZStudio4*or whatever it is called*\plugins\OctaneRender\plordazs.dll

esp. the plordazs.dll needs to be there and only once there (= in no other folder in daz main).

ps: you can check the plordazs.dll version by right clicking it in explorer, select "properties" and then "details"...
for 2.1 the file version must read 2.1.212.4166 (and 2.12.0.1 for the octane.dll)
and for 1.5 it needs to be 1.5.155.4166 (and 1.55.0.0 for the octane.dll)
The obvious is that which is never seen until someone expresses it simply

1x i7 2600K @5.0 (Asrock Z77), 16GB, 2x Asus GTX Titan 6GB @1200/3100/6200
2x i7 2600K @4.5 (P8Z68 -V P), 12GB, 1x EVGA GTX 580 3GB @0900/2200/4400

correction: the 1.5 plordazs.dll also shows 2.212-and-so-on in win explorer. apparently the resource compiler doesn't respect the regarding switches. another way to identify it:

the 1.5 plordazs.dll is of 20.024.832 bytes length, whereas
the 2.1 plordazs.dll is of 20.238.848 bytes length...

plordazs reads 19 550 208 octets (excuse my french win7 ^^)

i should maybe add that i had v1.2 running before using the updater. did i skip any important manipulation ?

These files where removed from the DAZ Directory / the Updater was run to replace them just in case / still getting the same error.
