It is true that the carpaint is a little dull but i avoid bright paints because it sounds wrong, imho.
At the moment i do not have time to do tutorials. i can tell you that there are three important parameters for the carpaint.
The base color, the intensity of the brightness and the color of the brightness.
Some carpaint colors like some Lamborghini have a color brightness which change when the pigments are overexposed.
The most important for me is the choice of a good illumination. A good material is nothing without a good illumination and vice versa.

In addition, remember that each parameter can be controlled by a rgb node or a gaussian spectrum node, not just a greyscale node.
