I'm loading it as "image".
How full is the memory on your card?

It's just coffee bean in the scene. (aayyy

Around 20mb of 512 is taken. It loads as float image, but wont as image.

Aah, well float is all you really need, as it is a greyscale image

Not sure why it should crash as an image for you...
The float image is 1/3 to 1/4 of the size of an image in the amount of memory it takes up.

Here's an update with larger, textured beans. I tried to pile them up, but you need many beans to have decent pile:).

I managed to optimize my geometry and spare some extra polys to push arabica beans details a little bit further. Here is a new set of images:)
