It may be Otoy's team preference to keep quiet but personally I enjoy when Autodesk or Cakewalk reveals what they are working on and how long they expect to release an update. When they do this I am not nervous about the company's capabilities or in the dark where the company is heading and how I can build my own future around their tools. I saw recently that Otoy had to scrap code for now overhauling the lights http://render.otoy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=36737 I understand how frustrating that this can be and also to have people expect it if you say "it will be done"

Small gradual updates/releases keep us in the action with Otoy, spreading the word about octane.. If I had to wait a 6 months, it would be rough but I could handle it.. if I had to wait a year then I would probably be googling for a different GPU Render that is either the same or better and I would pay more for it, I would have to because it would have to get the job done. The more updates, even if it was small ones -the better -it fuels us and in return it fuels Otoy -the word gets out.

- If you shared that you are working on making systems or lights better that's fine and it wouldn't need to be specified or even released in the next update unless maybe something simpler could be added like better controls or features rather than a release of optimizations which could be done/released at a later time.
-A business without a sign is like a sign of no business
-In announcements you could safely post confirmed new enhancement/fixes that you know will for sure be added. At least the post above was appreciated but should happen more often.

Most of us that signed up with Octane appreciate what it is already and thank you for your hard work.. I heard through link above that the new update will be released this month -great news. Thanks for sharing at least that the other updates were just small ones -gives me a better sense that there is more to look forward to.

Could this part of the reason it's been so quiet...? http://brigade3.com/

Brigade 3 looks great. Can't wait to see Brigade & Octane merge.
