It may be true, that most customers probably don't need most of the modes of the deep channel kernel, but they are really useful for us and for plugin developers to figure out why Octane doesn't render as expected (for example: http://render.otoy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=45&t=33236).

Adding that mode took only a few minutes, but helps quite a lot.

Hmm, here it works. Could you try again?

I have run into an HDRI error.
When rotating the HDRI, the image becomes very pixelated.
As you can see in the images attached, it is not the HDRI at fault. I have also tested this with other HDRI images and have the same problem. I didnt have this problem before.

What are your exact environment settings? And how big is the environment image?

Default settings. I tested it with different scenes and different HDRIs.
some large, some small.
There are no other light sources in the scene.
Also, when rotated, I get a lot of black dots on the image. Turning off importance sampling gets rid of them though.
I think the problem was in 1.17 as well. Can't check right now cause I'm not at work.

This was in Pathtracing btw, not sure if other kernels have the same problem.

I just check 1.17, and I have the same HDRI problem. Didnt check any other versions. Let me know if you cannot recreate the problem.

Ok, I did some more testing. I downloaded 1.1 and loaded up the same scene and I have the same problem. Then, I just imported the .obj and loaded up an HDRI and it worked fine. So, there must be some problem with my exporter (Blender) or something which is changing something. I'll look into this more.
