Hi abstrax.
i have a question , would it be possible to render a animation on several octane instances at the same time ,
say octane 1 renders frame 1-100 , octane 2 renders frame 100-200 and so on .
i know we can have as many octane instances open as the graphic card can handle . with rendering animation that would be fantastic .
i tryed it with this exporter version and the 2. instance crashes.
regards
Rico

I will have a look at the crash, but why would you want that?ribrahomedesign wrote:Hi abstrax.

hi
thanks for fast replay.
it would make the rendering much faster ,if i can use 3 ore 4 octane instances to render my animation ,it will do
it 3 ore 4 times faster.and at the end i assemble the frames in my vidio editing program
cheers

BTW the crash happend after i get a runtime error message.

Not really, if you have two instances of Octane running on the same graphics card, you get only half the samples per second and you have to share the grapics card memory between the two processes. It's exactly the same as if you would let 2 C4Ds render at the same time on your PC. If you have several graphics cards you can combine their use in Octane (Device Manager).ribrahomedesign wrote:hi

That means, Octane shows you a runtime error and then crashes, or does C4D crash? Anyway, I sent you a PM. Please have a look in your message box.BTW the crash happend after i get a runtime error message.
