I just tried using IES lights and I cant get them to work either...pictures are black
tried on IES LIGHT object and as a texture on a diffuse material with black body emission on a single plane
EDIT: Actually some simple IES files work others dont.. the famous "1589835-nice.ies" file for example it doesnt work.
EDIT2: Hmm i dunno what going on...even simple IES for me are not working..they behave as normal light

these are print screens of the latest Octane for Max release.
the scene is a 5x5 meters plane ad a matrix of 3x3 ies emitters
All Octane versions works differently. The only release that works good with the ies is the 2.58f

-----------------
Very often fall 2013 max when working with this version. Fall completely randomly. At the turn of the projections, closing the render window, etc. So where are using the 3dsMax interface.

Didn't test a lot with 3dsmax 2013.Pancir wrote: Very often fall 2013 max when working with this version. Fall completely randomly. At the turn of the projections, closing the render window, etc. So where are using the 3dsMax interface.

nothing. I did it yesterday, I rotate them of 180°.Karba wrote:What about this?gabrielefx wrote:these are print screens of the latest Octane for Max release.

I put the ies emitters inside a closed box too, no emission on top, bottom, front walls...etc.

That is strange. I opened your scene on 2 different computers.gabrielefx wrote:nothing. I did it yesterday, I rotate them of 180°.Karba wrote:What about this?gabrielefx wrote:these are print screens of the latest Octane for Max release.

What is your full path to IES file?
