OctaneRender® for Maya® beta 2.58k [OBSOLETE]

I agree, I think it's a bug. Was just letting JimStar know what I'd discovered and providing a workaround in the mean time.Hatak wrote:Hmm, yes it work. But sometimes need duplicate light, and change value of attribute. If is not a bug, may be do a checkbox when check duplicate input connection, when unchek not duplicate.

Hey!Joss wrote:I think yes, since most of the textures is sRGB-encoded, except cases when people takes special care for that matter. Even if you going to support just the textures with "gamma 1.0" and "gamma 2.2" it would be already awesome. And I already asked somewhere: is it needed in some usecases for Maya artists to have that gamma correction before loading to engine or not?

Looks like they developed a gamma correction node for octane in the latest release candidate:
"Post OctaneRender™ 1.025 beta2.59 test release
New features since beta 2.58
Color correction: applies a levels and gamma correction to the input texture...."
I need more detailed info about what you do when you get this message, and the message itself copied exactly how it is. The content of Maya console window will be very helpful to catch the reason of it (with "Verbose mode" enabled in Octane render settings) - you may just post the screenshot if the console has not many messages...ZLOy wrote:When I use large Image Texture (4k) JPG format in output window maya a lot of error messages:
ERROR, D:/Path/File_name.jpg: programming error; please fix
JimStar I've just bought a new GTX 570 and updated my quadro fx 3800 drivers to the newest. At first glance, it is far more stable with my updated drivers, and I think I have no crashes for the moment, using only the GTX 570 for the CUDA computing.
I am sorry that I've told you it was crashing without updating my drivers, it is just that I needed those drivers for Avid Media Composer. Now screw Avid I am too happy to see it fly, fly, fly with this setup!
Sorry and cheers, keep up the good work. I absolutely love Octane in maya.

Anyway I've found one more bug that may be the reason of your crashes... Will be released in some minutes...
