- You cannot import IES files into Octane.
- You cannot use materials to generate light in the current or next build of Octane.

Well, run a search in this forum : IES are on the roadmap (fortunately).
And on a sidenote as Maxwell supports them I don't see why Octane couldn't.

Hi,

Maxwell render is now like 6 years in development, octane about 7 months.
we will add IES suppor, we just need some time to catch up.

Yeah that goes without saying , Octane is already looking great today. :D
I was just pointing out that ies would be there at some point in the future.
