yeah, we did'nt make it in time.
it's something that's much easier for us to implement once MLT is finished,
so it's better to do MLT first.

i'll give you some tips:

- hook up a node's output to 2 different node's inputs
- delete the source node
- bang! :)

this is on our list for the 2.2 update.

another tip:
When I relink OBJ file with changes (added new objects), new object in scenes have blank materials (empty circles), when i "pick" material and try to change its type to glossy for example i get crash :(

Cool,

Rad, will the ocs structure change? I'm thinking to start scripting a 'render script' for 3ds max to get camera position/fov and also light position (if for instance you create a sun light system in max I could try to workout something for at least the position of it and put in 'bruteforce mode' into the ocs. And after that, run octane with flags to read this file and some more options.)

Becouse if the file structure changes.. then all the work would be for nothing... and I think some integration to a 3rd party 3d software would do us all some good.

I've got some free time :P

[gk] already has a working 3ds max script that he's refining and going to provide on the forums soon.

also, don't use OCS for batch export, it is likely to change.

if you want to see the command line options, just start octane with the '-h' flag, and it will show you it's usage.

Not so good so far. Simple install on my laptop. I do an Add/Objects/Mesh of the Chess Scene contained in the new Demo Suite. As soon as I click on the object node, crash.

just tried... terminal doesn't find Octane... bizarre!

( I don't know if this can help , I'm trying in a MAC Pro 2 x 3 Ghz Quad-Core Intel Xeon , 8 Gb 800 Mhz DDR2 FB-DIMM, NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT 512 MB )
