Ahhh, exciting. One of the scenes I want to enter is suffering horribly from fireflies, despite 8000+ samples. This is superb news indeedy.abstrax wrote:Sorry, I can't give you a specific date, but I expect it only to be a matter of days and yes the competition will be extended, due to the lack of a Linux version. I'm sorry about the delay. We are working on it.

You gave very specific answer. Ranting stops. Thank you.abstrax wrote:Could you please stop ranting? Is that too much to ask for? We said already several times, that we are working on a workaround. Is that so hard to understand? Code doesn't grow on trees or drops from the sky. You have to develop it and test it and that takes time.iljubicic wrote:Fix live account for the last time it is unusable. Try to leave an animation overnight! That's not a way to treat your customers.
Yes, problem is always on your server side!
We finished the changes today and the next release (pre-beta 2.43) will work this way: The authentication distinguishes between connection problems and incorrect credentials. If a connection problem occured, Octane automatically retries after 10 seconds. During those 10 seconds you can always cancel the loop and Octane will close. This loop is repeated until a connection has been established. If the authentication then fails due to incorrect credentials, the OctaneLive account dialog is shown (as before). If they are correct, Octane continues with loading the scene and rendering.
We hope that will solve the animation problems.

Marcus

Hi ! I'm using the 2.42 for Cuda 3.0 (the only that works on my machine), and I encountered a weird trouble : The main menu "File Node Help" becames inactive, preventing me from saving my ocs.
It occured two times so far. As my heavy scene requires around 7 minutes to load, it is very annoying !
Everything else in the program is working fine.

Good to know that you will extend the competition for us linux users. Could you say how much time we will have to post the finished picture after the linux version is out? The scene i modeled takes a very long time or to be more specific a very very long time to render

Hello,
I have two GTX 460 graphics card
In version 1.022b GPU search was about 90%
Example:
GPU1: 90% Load
GPU2: 87% Load
In this new version is a very small load.
Example:
GPU1: 53% Load
GPU2: 42% Load
This causes a slow calculation. Is it possible to set the priority of rendering? Or should I set something wrong?
I have 7 fans on graphics cards (loud noises),but, is still a burden to handle.
Thank you!

If you are using the CUDA 3.2 build, then that is expected (see release notes). If it's the CUDA 3.0 build, then that is not expected, in which case it would be great if you could send us the scene for investigation.Method wrote:Hello,

not certain if is just 2.42 cuda 3.2 (and 2.41 I think too), but just in case.
It happens that if you create a difuse with blackbody emmitter and env is texture all is fine, but if then you change to daylight, and after that change back to texture it all goes peanuts, no control on blackbody power, and the light shoots sky rocket. It maight something to do with this too http://www.refractivesoftware.com/forum ... =23&t=5131

Yes Marcus, that's it. I downloaded version 3.0 and I have a hot graphics card at 80 + degrees Celsius. Load + - 90%
