As I keep saying....i guess then you have to endure those slowdowns furthermore..
PaulI need someone to send me a scene which exhibits the slowdown in order to look at a fix for it.

I'm not using v3 yet but I used to have slow downs in the latest v2 plugin until I tried deleting unused Octane materials from the scene. Once I did this, OcDS was immediately much faster. I manually delete any unused materials because not saving unused materials doesn't necessarily delete them from the scene. It's worth trying this with any slow scenes to see if it helps speed things up.
If this has nothing to do with it then try to recreate this problem with a test scene using free content. Then those using v3 can try it out to see if they have the same or similar problems. I know sometimes it's not easy or can be a distraction creating test scenes but if we can build up a collection of them then maybe we'll all be on the same page when testing certain problems. This might make it easier to work out whether the problem is with the plugin or the users system.

Can a user experiencing the slowdown issues pls try my previous suggestion of
Pls let me know the outcome.
Thanks
Paul
Also try unticking Don't Load Unused Materials.Have you tried unticking Octane->Preferences->Don't Load Render/Environment/Project Settings in order to clear out all the unused nodes?
Pls let me know the outcome.
Thanks

Material Panel->left click the OctaneRender Materials list to select a material then right click to get the menu is triggering a double click event in DAZStudio which causes the NGE to display (a few users here have reported this problem). This has also been reported in the Qt forums, so it looks like a general issue with Qt, but there does not appear to be a solution. Do people object if I remove the double-click event opening the NGE? You will still be able to click the Nodegraph Editor button to open the NGE.
Thanks

This is just some speed maneuvers that I use. (not aimed at gaazsi, but just for everyone.)gaazsi wrote:i guess then you have to endure those slowdowns furthermore...
And sorry if you already know, but just in case:
1) in DAZ - Edit > Preferences > Interface > Display Optimization > set to "Best"
2) in DAZ, hide hair and clothes using a SCENE tab while working on a multi-figure pose, only bring in at the end
3) in DAZ - Set default/active render engine to 3Delight
4) in DAZ - while working have the 'Render' pane selected, or anything other than 'Actors, Wardrobe & Props', otherwise anytime you select an object Daz will try to identify SMART content. The Pose & Animate pane is a slow one, too.
5) in OcDS - set Kernel max samples to 50, 10, or something so low it don't matter how often behind the scenes it runs
6) in OcDS - set resolution to 100 x 100, again, something less compute hungry

I have refreshed the installer at the top of this thread with:
3.0.4.11
- Changed the ABC Exporter to also save to an OCS (the ABC filename with a .OCS extension) with an embedded ABC Scene with the Octane materials attached
- Double clicking an Octane Material in the Material tab no longer opens the Nodegraph Editor. Use the Nodegraph Editor button instead.
- You can no longer copy from the LiveDb and paste into an Octane material (ince it causes a crash). Instead use "Copy as new material"

Paul, this is AWESOME. So much for Daz plugin limitation
(The zoom was for the other background, so it looks weird on a transplanted scene. But that's my bad, not the plugin's
)
THANK YOU!!!
