V4 is not quite stable yet, but as soon as it is, we will make those changes with the official release.BlackFenix_URS wrote:Hi, this article says that there is a free v4 version, where can I find it?

Hi,
Is there a "no way to go" with old GC like mine (gtx 580) ?
I have the latest nvidia windows 7 64 drivers.
Octane 4 recognizes my gtx 580 in the available devices but does not render…

Okay I get it :
My "old" GTX 580 is a Fermi GPU and Octane 4 no longer supports it…
I have to buy a new GC (maybe a 1080 TI one)

Hi pixym,
yes correct, all GTX 4XX, 5XX are Fermi GPUs, and are no longer supported in v4, you need at least a GTX 6XX or newer.
ciao Beppe

Hello and thank you for this release!
I`d like to know when offline licensing will be back.
This is not optional to me and I cannot understand how its reimplementation could be a problem.
I imagine it is just a few lines of code which can almost directly be copied from 3.7, where it still works, no?
Would be great if this question will not be ignored again.
regards
Stefan

Hi Stefan,
since the Offline mode is in heavy refactoring, it is not just like copying and pasting a couple of lines of code.
For now you have to work with 3.07, Offline mode will be added in one of the next versions, as soon as it is ready.
Anyway, v4 is still in experimental build phase, not to be used in production.
ciao Beppe

Thank you for answering Beppe!
I don`t have the insight to know about the effort of implementation
and was suspecting you did it on purpose for testing the reactions of users.
I will be very happy when the offline licensing will be integrate in current builds again.
Ciao
