Try to set the Blend option to 0.3-0.5 and set the minimum to 1000 at least.. you can decide the amount of Denoising withthe Blend Otion and use HIgh res textures for a cleaner and sharp result always

There is no difference in waiting for 1000 samples on min 10 or setting it to min 1000 afaik. I think the end result is the same, the only difference being that there is no time spent on denoising until the threshold is reached, then interval updates kick in. (I may stand corrected)
There must be a reason why they put it there then, frankly all these 60-100 samples denoise test are way too far from reality but the interval is to tell octane how long it has to wait on every denoise which I don't actually get why.. you can see the voice 'rendering' changing to denoise each 20 sec or the interval set

Denoiser interval settings will be helpful/needed when using interactive render region. otherwise, denoise on completion should be enabled. doesn't make any difference if you denoise every x secs or at the end, the result will always be same.

Currently, the memory usage is high. we have plans to reduce it, but our current target is to make it stable and better. until then this will be a restriction.
I can denoise a 3k no problem, so then from 3k to 4k must be a huge jump in VRAM usage as I still have like just under 8gb VRAM free.
So you are saying that the AI Denoiser at 4k+ uses more than what I have free? Then yeah I'd say, it really needs some serious tender lovin' care :) It would be a shame if it only works for smaller images.
Good luck and hope you guys find a good fix. Thanks

EDIT ---- ok wow, I looked properly now, 4k on a totally simple scene uses 600mb (no denoise) and the same scene at 3k with AI denoiser uses over 8.5gb. I guess 4k really is out of the question, that or any sizable scene at 2k even.

Denoiser crash update:

Currently, denoiser will be working only on the system with supports AVX instructions. So processors which released before Q3 2011 will not able to run the denoiser. Sorry, this will be fixed in the next release for windows build.

I readily admit that I didn't ensure equivalency of settings beyond the samples...and that certainly could have a big difference. Obviously v4 is currently a very early build and hasn't been tuned. Also this is just one sample...different scenes could yield dramatically different conclusions.

A few observations...again with lots of caveats:
- 3.08 was much faster in my tests. Over twice as fast in one test.
- The denoiser is promising but it doesn't seem to remove all noise and doesn't seem to have any impact on fire-flies.

Layered PSD with comparison images and render times:

Puh, the render time increase is pretty massive. Was adaptive sampling on in every scenario?
I tried to be mindful to have adaptive sampling on for all tests, but I was rushed. Not sure.

How do I move-rotate or scale Objects in the Viewport? can't figure it out as any object is exported in object layers and hard to crack down :/

Amazing release!

Noticing an issue that is probably related to scene ai however. when scrubbing through an alembic based scene.. the parts are ghosting for a minute before it seems to correct. However, remnants of the parts are left behind in the render layers (mid, ao, etc)

Use the "Object Picker" to select an object in the viewport and turn on the gizmo.

Denoiser crashes for me every single time. I've tired it at least 20 times in many different configs to see if there was some disagreement between settings in other areas but so far no good. Tested administrative privileges to ensure that wasn't the issue. I run Octane with 2 Titan Blacks. Updated to the latest driver available 391.24. Total crashville. Please help!
