And there is a strange issue ... when I change the resolution to 1920 x 1080 the picture renders only black ... when I use the blender Addon and set it to the same resolution and hit render, it opens up octane and renders the picture as it should be ...
sound s like you are out of vram. this only happens to me when using 70-80% vram and does not depend on the new octane version.
Sure it does, because with the previous versions pt worked fine and I just tested the new one with 1024x512 resolution!

yes ok it might work with the old version but at the end it only happens to me with heavy vram usage (+70% vram). sometimes even a few mb more vram load and the same scenario happens. maybe some changes to the engine in the newer releases will affect the upper vram limit..
sometimes closing the 3d suite to free vram could help..

what about your vram does it also happen with very low vram usage?

Started to make some more serious tests:
1. is it possible to remember all the settings in "turntable animation" dialog, even between octane sessions? It's very annoying to fill in all the parameters every time you want to make simple animation, noticed some mistake and bah - have to reenter all the numbers/paths/filenames, etc, etc.
2. Is it possible to import camera animation from some text file(suggesting to use simple .chan file from nuke/houdini - it's just a text dump of coordinates), and add something like "use camera animation from file" to turntable dialog?

Well, ofcourse it would be better to have full spectrum of animation controls, but quick hack with turntable would be also good.

3. And final note: it's not necessary to keep "turntable" dialog on after user pressed "render" button. Would be much more handy to have some progress bar with "cancel/pause" buttons right in the main program window instead of useless dialog. Actually whole turntable dialog could be built into right side panel - just add one more button for turntable, progress bar, and we'll be happy. Later ill post the photoshopped screenshot of suggested UI.
