If you only need one mask: The render layer option of octane produces flawless masks. but only for one object channel at a time...

And exactly at this point the problem is =)
To make several masks (that would have perfect matching) from one scene view, you need to re-render the view again and again ))

Anybody else issuing that octene material are dublicating at random in material editor. i have to remove all unused materials fromt ime to time...

thats right. Here as well.

I got lots of double materials in my scene and I have been wondering all the time, why or
how I copied an object (and therefore also the materials) so many times inadvertently into my scene.

I would not have thought, that Octane is doing this until your post.

would be great to give more info. How, when, after which operation? Are you sure that's not a user mistake? I haven't notified it before. Has this started after last version with mix material improvements?

Hi, is there a trick to get a single shadow pass on an archiviz projet ?
I've tried to follow these tutorial (http://inlifethrill.com/trainings/multi ... cinema-4d/,
but no way to obtain the single shadow passe needed...
Missing something ?

I'm having the duplicating material issue as well. I'm not sure why it happens but it happens with the first few materials in the list. They get duplicated. I'm suspicious that it's related to saving the same project with different names. I often save updated versions of a scene with an appended number in the filename. Maybe that's when the duplication happens?

Also, Live DB is too slow to be useable for me right now. I've tested my internet connection speed. I'm on Windows 8.1 and R16 with this most recent version.

Yes I also save incremental numbers and the dublicated materials are also the ones in the beginning of the material list. i will observe this further.

For me the same: Live DB got very slow since update on 2.24.1. R1, running on Win 7, R17. It takes minutes to load the previewimages and my internetconnection is really fast.
