Got a scene. Simple ball scene with animation. Pathtrace kernel
There are two lights, you can see 'em there, and a jpg-sphere-env, everything else is Glossy.

2x 780 Ti give me 10 M/s
add 980 to that and i have 19M/s (lowest 16 M/s on ocassion)

Jawdrop!

There might be some hidden potential after all...
Did you tried with other scenes? How much can you get from that scene with a single 980?

This is very interesting. What does OTOY say about it? Any explanations?

Try it with another scene! Add a few more lights and you`re good to go.

Are you on 2.14?

It is a suggestive post about version... Nevermind.Yes it's 2.14

Another scene is coming, you are welcome to suggest fitting benchmark except ones already tested. At the moment i'm sharing some of my commercial project inside stuff ^_^ You know, deadline in 2 days, no time for render with conventional methods... Octane to the resque!!! :) And night shifts for me. At least no single overheat crash so far.

6 AM... wish me good morning and nice sleep folks :D

In regard to future 980ti / 990 products, I just stumbled upon this site that lists some rumored specs. I hadn't seen them before, could be quite interesting..
