Hi there
Thanks for the reply.
I see. So the Nvidia driver in relation to this version is the issue of the alpha problem.
How do i make a clean update to the previous stable driver 275.33?
Should i just go to the site, download that version of the driver and install it?
Will that make 2.49b RC work again with alpha channels correctly?
OctaneRender® 1.024 beta 2.49b RC (lin/mac/win) [OBSOLETE]

Yes, just download the driver and launch the installer. In the dialog where you can choose between "Express" and "Custom" install, pick "Custom": In the next dialog, enable the option "Clean install": This guarantees that everything gets installed like in a fresh install. The only problem is that you then have to disable the multi-GPU mode (SLI) again (see my previous post).TheOracle wrote:Hi there

I think I've just come across another bug.
I was responding in another thread and did a test of a teapot on a surface.
http://www.refractivesoftware.com/forum ... =33&t=7890
If you look at that thread you'll see the results. As you can see. If you set the opacity of an object to zero and switch on alpha shadows. It not only removes the alpha shadows of the invisible object.(in this case a teapot) but also leaves a hole in the plane I was using as a surface, directly under the teapot !.
I did the test using all 3 kernals as well as moving the teapot around the surface. The hole moves with the Teapot and is present using all 3 kernels.
Spooky or what
