Actually it crash (randomly) on connecting imported materials to the mesh nodes..the only way of avoid this to happen (it works 98%) is to stop the engine, applying the materials and start the engine againmib2berlin wrote:Hi, I have some issues with 23.4 and material nodes. Crash if i connect or disconnect material node to mesh in some cases.
In my test file it crash always i disconnect the specular material from mesh, click on mesh with material picker (node inspector is empty) -> change material to diffuse.
Cheers, mib
Edit: Could not upload a tar.gz file

edit: it crash, crash badly. I saved the ocs and on opening it changes the mesh node names...like if it loads up different mtl file, is there a way to select an object or mesh and apply an imported material instead of 'connecting' it? I found the need of checking the node name with the picker prior to connect the mat quite frustrating...

I believe we found the issue now... it'll be fixed in pre23_5.
Hi.
If you replace the exported materials with custom materials / macros, and save, on reload Octane duplicates those materials that have been replaced. Don't know if this has been posted, if yes, disregard.

Forgive me if mentioned elsewhere..
There seems to be a bug resulting unresponsiveness and have to terminate octane.
When using viewport pan with the Right mouse Button. Sometimes it hangs octane...
Is it me only? I'm trying this over and over again with different scenes.
Especially with emission materials on.
Could please try it on your scenes and post the results.

There can be random freezes of V4. It is corrected here.
