Thanks, Beppe & aoktar. PR 14 is working like a treat so far. It's very nice to have a functional renderer (and also to know what's going on).

Only possible minor issue I found is that in standalone there's still no checkbox to enable/disable denoising. Seems to work just fine enabling/disabling under Spectral AI Denoiser but I don't know if someone would need to untick a specific device (memory limitations maybe?).

The OctaneX PR14 Houdini plugin is also available, including plugin builds for the latest H18.5 and H19.0 production builds:

You'll see the supported platforms if you read Standalone post. Intel macs are not having denoiser.

Is there some advice on how to read bug reports?

it happens to so frequently, that I'd like to be able to have a look in _BugReport.txt and get some indication of what's going on, instead of having to send them to support and wait

Hold your bugreports for now. You'd see that plugin codebase is old no updates are possible unless 2022 OctaneX SDK out.

Yes it runs but it's not available in release. I have some compile problems and trying to solve it.

Not quite. The standalone post says
Fixed denoiser not working on Intel Macs.
(fourth bullet point under "Changes since PR13").

And denoiser is indeed working— at least on the MacPro— with the exception of not showing up in the preferences. So you can enable it in the render settings, render, and it will denoise just fine, but you cannot turn it off for a device (assuming you have more than one) because the checkbox is still missing. Just thought you folks should know.

Hi TBubble,
about AI Denoiser in OctaneX, is performed by CPU, if it has the AVX2 instructions, not GPU, under macOS Metal.
So the the Device option for enabling AI Denoiser on GPU is useless.
In PR11/14, just enable it in general Camera Imager node, or Camera tag.
