Thanks. PT 25sec is the same as what I have for chess_set_procedural.ocs.M130 wrote:M1 Max 32Core 64GBatoyuser1 wrote:Would you happen to have a benchmark on this from the chess scene?
chess_set_procedural.ocs
DL 19sec,PT 25sec,PCM 48sec
When they get it sorted I would expect more like 11 secs in line with 3090/6900 speeds
Hi, hope someone can answer these question.
I have a iMac now and uses Octane X and it works great! I will now buy a powerful Windows computer, that I will use next to my mac like a local render/unrealEngine etc... machine. Most of the time I will use my Windows machine through Parsec wireless connection. So therefore it would be better for me to use the octane render node functionality, if that's available with Octane X. So I can use octane native on my mac and connect wirelessly to a render setup on my Windows.
So my questions are: Does render node with a windows machine work for Octane X? And if so, does the windows machine have to have an AMD card for it to work as support node for octane X on mac?

We were promised transparency.
Can we get any update on the devs on what's going on? Are we waiting on Monterey 12.3? The rumored March 8 event? Apple to unveil the successors to the 2019 Mac Pro?
It's been months now with PR12/13— months of a broken (purposely borked?) renderer with mostly radio silence coming from the devs is not what I'd call transparency.

I bought a subscription in November 2021 betting that you will upgrade soon to a native M1 architecture. I haven't used octane since. There is no news, you ignore questions about the development stage.
Why can I quickly render with denoiser through Суcles, Blender (m1max)? Why does volume fog work there? These questions don't require an answer, I just see that it is possible.

@Gr1f2:
no sorry, no OctaneX demo for C4D R25 at the moment.
@sebbans:
OctaneX is still based on 2020.1.5 SDK, with some addictions, while PC version is at 2021.1 SDK.
We need to wait for the next upcoming 2022.1 SDK, to have an OctaneX version based on the same SDK as CUDA, to be able to experiment Net render in a mixed environment, with both CUDA and Metal Render-Nodes.
You must have Nvidia GPUs under Windows, AMD GPUs are supported only under macOS Metal.
@TBubble
there was a serious issue in plugins SDK, that was blocking the new PR version build.
Thankfully the issue has been fixed now, so we should have a new PR version pretty soon.
ciao,
Beppe

Updated the link with latest PR14 build. It's still on old plugin code base. No fixes or changes on plugin side, just Core improvements. For having latest features of 2022.x, we're waiting to have a OctaneX SDK which is based on latest 2022 SDK. Enjoy it!
