Hello, could you tell me how to make material to simulate smoke and fire? When connecting material, I do not see it in the viewport, maybe you tell me what to do right
Mine CPU doesn't go over 15% of usage during rendering. Have you checked other processes?AegisFalcon wrote:My RTX card is used but also my CPU at 100% and it go to high temp. Why ? normally it's only GPU rendering. Bug ?

Hi guys! So, here's the deal.
I actually managed to launch the plugin, and it's working, but the way it's working is not the greatest. It can be very slow, it can even crash my wifi adapter drivers, for some reason
Anyway, Idk if it's my pc, or that version of plugin is still unstable (or both), but i would love to know, what can I possibly do, to make it work better? Anything that comes to your mind, any setup, how for instant can I lower quality of preview render in my viewport etc.
Here are my specs:
GTX 750 TI
i7 4790 3,6ghz
8 GB RAM
I would be super grateful. Thanks, and take care!

Hi!
I'm testing out Octane here with this free tier. I'm quite excited for a few things but for now I just have more problems than solutions.
Some of the biggest problem for now is the handling of collections and collections instances. It just doesn't work, at all. It's all messed up. It moves the objects in the render, duplicate them in weird ways.
Also, I am often using different scenes to put my modeled assets or make lighting variations of a layout, but I don't know if it's working correctly (partly because collection instances is broken).
Otherwise I managed to have quite a lot of things working which is encouraging and exciting.
Does anyone from the team know this issue with the collections?

This feature is not working yet. This is experimental build and not all features may be available at start.carmandale wrote:How do you get it to render hair?

I'm really loving the Octane renderer in Blender. Not too keen on the actual render output, but this is what I was able to get from the viewport.

I'm a noob at rendering, so I have a question. Here are my specs:
CPU: i7-4790 3,6 ghz
GPU: GTX 750 TI
RAM: 8 GB
Octane doesn't work great in Blender for me, it's rather slow, and it can crash quite often, while adding, for instance, a bump map for an object. In a bit more complexe scene, it's just a pain in the ass to do anything. And I'm talking concept art purpose comlepxity, so not very high in the frist place. And still, too much to handle, as it seems.
So, my question is, if adding 8 gb of RAM would make a difference? Or is that not what's important here? Cause I can't really buy a new GPU or CPU, and RAM is basically the only thing I can improve now. But if it wouldn't change anything, why bother?
So I will be super grateful for help, thanks!
