Hi,
I have posted a topic in the release candidate forum about the problems i have been experiencing with some scenes i have produced.
Has anyone noticed a difference between the older 2.44 release and the latest 2.46b release.
I have had a problem getting 3 seperate scenes to render at the large size of 5000 px and couldnt work out why one scene would and converged far faster than the other two. I have since realised that the scene that would render was built in 2.44 and converged faster and rendered faster than any scene i have since built in 2.46b.
I went back and rebuilt one of the scenes in 2.44 release that wouldnt render in 2.46b and it has rendered at 5000px and was far faster and converged faster too.
Has anyone else tested this?

Yeah soz to echo here, but little frustrating spending 4k+ on gpu's myself expecting the multi gpu kernel time guesstimate to be within a two month tolerance from time stated. But i guess its better to have a solid product rather than beta drips and drabs of limited functionality...SamCameron wrote:That was said about 3-4 weeks ago, no news is not always good news. After Cycles came out to the scene I don't understand why to keep all this secret... now it's time to show to their costumers what plans do they half because it's very frustrated to do not know what to expect week after week after week...Jaberwocky wrote: They are trying to sort Multi GPU out as we speak. V2.5 due sometime in the next 3-4 weeks using Cuda 4.0 should be what your looking for. (hopefully)

Hi,
Amazing update, im happy with that, but i have a important question, in preferences, we can change the units in Ocatane. Can we have an option to when we put the material or texture put in real size? Like, 3x3 meters or ,40x,40 meters kind of mapping. we right now only have the scale option (correct me if im wrong). I think that mapping control will give more power to create good materials doesnt matter with 3d modeler we used to create it.
Thanks for amazing work.
