Hi,

I tested moving object, dynamics, bones animation, moving light, cloath and Mo-cloner in live preview. (all together in same scene)
Worked, without any problems on my system. I ran it about 10min in circle..was stable so far.
(using 2 Titan-Cards)
At versin 0.3.x there have been crashes caused by bones-animation, but now this workes fine to.

Testscene attached..

regards,
Chris

Hi Subroutine49690,
this is great. But i suppose still we can found a few problems. But i hope most critical problems go away. I'm going to heavy testes for geometry update feature again. Also your scene. Before sdk 1.20 to get a stable version is first target.

miroof wrote:Same crash when playing with cloners objets when live viewer is on
Hi aoktar an miroof,

I want to give a short feedback of bugs I had with 0.6.7c so far.
Had a scene with lots of cloner objects too yesterday and several crashes while working with it and rendering with preview renderer and also with the picture manager. Then I disabled the "renderinstances" check of the cloner object and all crashs were gone. Results on the viewport are the same, but as I understand it uses more VRAM, when renderinstances is of, right?
So there must be some issues with instancing and GPU load.
Also got a CUDA error, I think it was 702, something with launch timeout... have to look at my working pc later for checking.

Also I had a problem with saving final render data, maybe you mentioned it somehow, but I wasn`t aware of yesterday. Rendered 250 frames over night with the preview renderer without problem, but when I had a look in the directory it has been empty! No frames have been saved! Why? Because I had an "ä" in the directory and the imagefile name (umlauts). No warning or error messages, even the log says the files are saved, but they have not been saved. :|
Renamed the directory and the filename and rendered the same again... and everything was fine.

Next thing I discovered is a strange bug with octane area lights (generated from the plugin menu).
When I have several lights in a scene in top of each other and change their order in the project tree, suddenly one light tag is controlling another light below or above the one I am editing. I discovered it while changing the opacity of the light and surprisingly another light source was showing up then the one I am currently edited.

I will try to make a scenefile with all these problems included, but have little time for now.

Will try 0.6.8 later on...
thanx so far.

Hi ChrisVis,
please update to 0.68. I has revision for animation rendering problems. Also i advice to you use Picture viewer for animation renderings. I know you say colors are different, but it's not true. If you do correct color adjust on project then rendered image colors must be exactly same with live viewer and standalone.

For geometry updates: This part has several sections. It must work nicely but instances. You know C4D has two type instancing. If you don't check render instances, C4D copy same objects as clones. Otherwise, render instances are virtual copies of real objects. So they has really very small footprint. If you compare real instances exported and refreshed much more fast. But our code need some revisions for this type objects.

I'll check arealight preset command

Ahmet

No problem with the install.
But why is there a duplicate zip archive within the 0.6.8a zip archive?
See attachment.

no, are you sure something is not wrong with your object?

Hi aoktar and Subroutine4969,

I had some time to test your update geometry scene with 0.6.8a and found a problem with the picture manager renderer not showing up some geometry as I experienced in some of my scenes. In this case the sphere with the lightemission texture is missing completely, but showing up in openGL preview and Octane Live Viewer.
See pictures above for finale Renderings (1st with preview renderer, 2nd with picture manager renderer):
Frame 20 rendered with Octane Preview Renderer with smart update geometry only (no full scene update)
Frame 20 rendered with Octane Preview Renderer with smart update geometry only (no full scene update)
Frame 20 rendered with C4D Picture Manager with smart update geometry only (no full scene update) - Light emitting sphere missing
Frame 20 rendered with C4D Picture Manager with smart update geometry only (no full scene update) - Light emitting sphere missing
But you can also see, that the Picture Manager rendering is more accurate in case of the cloth collision tag with the sphere.

Preparing a test now to show up my problems so far...
