cant open any scene (exported and demosuites). Crushes after voxelizing when click on the mesh node. Chess scene opened, but crushed after few seconds after. Other scenes cant open at all after voxelazing.

And cant open any liveDB materials too. Crushes.

Could it be because of firewall?

Haha, I can give a repeatable procedure. Double click Octane.exe, repeatable crash.
Does not crash when I disable CUDA in nvidia panel.
Windows XP 64 so crashes not limited to 32 bit Pixelrush.

Looks like some big steps forward though.

hi there.
here is my testresult
1. no crashes , except when saving images
2. only one emitter works at the time
3.its much slower then the prev, release
4. fireflies taking over even with directlight.
verdict:
this is a very promising release , the outliner is fantastic ,octane loads faster now,but because of the fireflies
and the fact we can not save any images ,it make s it very difficult to test it.

i know MLT is on the list, but without it there is no way to use the arealights for interior shots .I switch of the lights.
cheers
Rico

gristle, I had a quick look back over the pages here and I dont see anyone with win7 64 bit with this basic problem, nor Vista so maybe its an XP issue.
which driver are you using?

edit ok I found one win7 and a vista.. but maybe its not the same

ok so I've done my duty and reported as best I could. Time to shut up :? :)

Hi Guys,

I've got about 100 mails to answer today, people with no octanelive account (eg they had a friend pay or another reason), so i'd like to suggest the following:

Please make one post per problem in the release candidate forum, and make the thread name start with 'pre-23:'
Include a complete procedure to replicate the problem, aswell as your driver version used.
Information like 'it's unstable' is of no use to use, we need solid procedures to replicate the problems so we can fix them and make another release soon.

Note that i've managed to render a lot of nice images with area lights in octane, i posted some on the forum, and with the right levels/treatment, you can get excellent results.

Thanks,
Radiance

you aren't supposed to switch a material to a macro.
A macro is not a material until it's complete.

We need to remove this from our list.
