It's ok, not a work breaking for me, but I thought it was working as I try it in modo, and works.
Thank you

Lino,
I've just updated from Blender 4.5.5 to 5.2 with Octane 31.10
PLEASE, pretty please, with sugar on top, fix this!
The 'Show Octane Viewport' button is used exclusively here, to be able to QUICKLY view our AOV's and then save out Layered EXR's, with cryptomattes, WITHOUT having to do things twice (i.e. previewing and then doing a full F12 Render just to save the image).
The latter also introduces a whole host of other issue for further work downstream eg: no thumbnail for the rendered image in explorer.
At the moment the Octane Render Viewport is broken, almost unusable.....Pan around the image, it hangs, Zoom the image, it hangs, switch among the AOV's at the bottom, it hangs; and the Octane Render Viewport no longer seems to sync to the Blender viewport when moving the camera around the scene....Constantly having to close and reopen the window is annoying.
The above was NEVER the case with 4.5.5 and Octane 30.9.
Cheers,
Toby

Hi Toby,
thanks for the detailed report. We’ll definitely look into the issues with the Octane Render Viewport and try to address the regressions you’re seeing compared to Blender 4.5.5 / Octane 30.9.
Personally, I’d really like the Octane Viewport to become much better integrated into Blender’s normal workflow, rather than behaving as a somewhat separate environment. I think that would make AOV previewing, saving EXRs, camera navigation and the overall workflow much more natural.
However, achieving that properly would require some fairly substantial changes on our side, so it’s not something we can implement quickly and it will take some time.
In the meantime, we’ll focus on fixing the current viewport problems and making the existing workflow reliable again.
Cheers,
Lino

We'll do our best. Please consider that this goes deep into the engine, so it may require some time. Thanks for your patience.

Is there a specific scene you are working with that has these issues? If so, could you share it with us?Gutmann wrote: Wed Aug 12, 2026 11:56 am Lino,
