I'm sorry to hear that you had a tough time. But don't be sad. The button was disabled before. So you wouldn't have been able to extend the maintenance even if you tried it in time.

In my situation it was different; it's not as if even if it was disabled it would have made a difference as you said. OToy needs to have some understanding in some situations and differentiate what may be a situation that could have things justified for the customer and what may not. In this case good customer support would be too understand the side of the customer and acknowledge the renewal at the price for the previous year.
