We looked into this and it's working as expected. There's a limit to what you can do with low poly geometry and auto bump.Zay wrote:Vertex displacement auto bump creates weird artifacts.
You'll need more subdivisions (on the primitive or displacement) to see the high frequency noise.

I'm sad to hear that as in its current state it is not usable for me. Bumping up vertex subdivisions just make it look worse as you get circles or stars looking shapes on objects .john_otoy wrote:We looked into this and it's working as expected.

I've try most of the day to get a skin looking surfaces with displacement and turbulence but I have given up on that. I will use a normal map instead as it is straight forward to use. But doesn't look as good as displacement.

A different sphere topology, more appropriate for that specific case, should produce the expected result.Zay wrote:I'm sad to hear that as in its current state it is not usable for me. Organic skin texturing is often done in Mari (or similar, such as Substance Painter), with or without third party resources, such as TexturingXYZ.
Here is an example by Riccardo Minervino:

Thank you for making possible Sun below horizon in Hosek&Wilkie Sky model. It looks amazing. As I remember months ago it was not possible.
