In the 'Planetary Enviroment', in the Star field, under Animation, in Animation settings I've tried to put in a PNG sequence and for some reason cannot get Animation of the file sequence as in other setups using the sequence... could someone tell me the correct settings.. even if same as in other shader animation required settings, I'm missing something here As the initial PNG(frame000000.png loads and I can get a calculate response putting in movie end frame(300)but not a animation of the sequence and the movie end frame returns to zero after 'Calculation'.

Hi,
the Calculate option doesn’t work with c4doctane, please have a look at the end of this page in the manual:

bepeg4d- Thanks. I had hoped there was a 'calculate for the Planetary'.... putting the same sequence on a cube using a Octane Texture, putting into a 'Planetary scene the texture updates.. using the same sequence as a Image texture in 'Planetary - tag- starfield same settings simply won't update frames in viewer until after moving timeline slider and then changing any 'Movie start, end or rate setting to literally anything and then the view updates the frame according to timeline frame selection. I guess I'll have to chalk this up to the 'Planetary animation cannot update frame sequences in C4dOctane automatically.

bepeg4d- I've got a question on Planetary Environment… Planetary surfaces... Ground elevation(height mapping) which I cannot seem to influence. The prior examples I find were from several versions ago and my vid drivers are blamed for failing the LV with old eaxaples created versions ago... could anyone post a current working example... puleasee! I just don't seem to get the process for that one Image texture...I just don't get any 'height' reaction at all. Is it necessary to process/create a texture to use beforehand with some radical Height adjustments? Does that create texture have to have a sort of definition factor?
I just don't get it. Pulling last of hair out.

Hi,
probably it depends from Altitude, and lighting contitions
Have a look at Ground Elevation Power 0 on the Right, and at 2 on the left:
