Thanks J. Unfortunately, LightWave Next is like a blurry distant thing on the horizon of a vast heat-shimmering desert... is it really there?.. just a mirage?... oh my god, can it be that this damn thing is moving in the same direction as me?!!.. at the same speed?!!.... water.... water....... wat........er.................

But hey, fortunately I can do what I want in IPR, and for the maps I'm talking about, they are never larger than 2k... so I'll keep crawling on hands and knees in hopes of reaching the elusive oasis that is LightWave Next. ;)

Problems installing this, keep getting this error when trying to install:
The procedure entry point
?apiMode_Shared_start@Octane@@YA_NPEBD_NPEAPEBDP6APEADPEAX@Z3@Z could not be located in the dynamic link library octane.dll.

Could someone tell me what the hell that is all about?

Hi,

This kind of errors is always related to mixing a new plugin version with old Octane.dll/Octane.dat files. Be aware that now all the needed files are included inside the plugin folder, alongside the plugin .p file, and nothing must be copied to the LightWave/bin folder. Please, check that you don't have old Octane.* files inside your LightWave/bin directory.

Thanks,
-Juanjo

I'll release a new plugin build next week with the 3.06.1 core. Anyway, what kind of crashes do you have? If you enable the log file in the plugin options panel, perhaps we could see something on it about these problems.

Thanks,

Hello.
Most of the crashes unfortunately end in a blue screen. But it also happens that it all ends up by disconnecting and restarting the video card driver. Btw - where i can find the log file?

The log file path is set in the plugin options panel. Hmm, blue screen crashes are usually related to hardware or drivers issues. Are you using risers or external boxes? If you have several GPUs could be a good test try to disable them one by one to see if one of them has some kind of hardware issue.

At first I planned to use risers. But there was very little stability. But it's much weirder that the stability did not increase very much after installing the graphics cards on the motherboard directly.
I have a fairly hot system - two processors, the main video card (quadro 4000) with a working temperature of 70-90 degrees. So the use of risers was caused by the idea of how to avoid overheating inside the computer.

Hi!

It seems like "Octane UVMAP" node is not refreshing anymore. I have it set to "LightWave T Color layer" mode and it's not working unless i reload scene. That "Update UV Map in IPR" button in GUI does nothing in 3.06.0.5.
Jaun can you check/test that ?

Thanks
