If it's a bug it's not in the plugin, it's in octane core (same problem in standalone),
It might also be that the bug is the behavior of V2 and it was fixed or maybe this have been changed on purpose for another reason (but I don't think so) .

this seems to be a limitation of V3,
but thank to your scene, maybe Abstrax found another bug in Octane Core with Shadow catcher and Medium
