It's a shame that Otoy does not respond to that issue at all.

Ron,

Set parallel and tile samples to max and see the results.

No, sadly even with max samples and tiles 1080's run tops at 93-95% which if you have 7 cards it adds up to the lost performance. On the contrary Vray GPU runs all the cards at 100%, so it is possible to achieve it. Lets hope.

Same with me. WIth max parallel samples and tile samples my cards run at 95-97%.

Does yours at 100%, Smicha?

Ron

BTW: how is your 7 x 1080 build going?

It is going fantastic! I have it in my office :)
I'm still waiting for some cuda 8 optimizations for pascal cards that would boost the speed even for a little. Not that I'm complaining with OctaneBench arround 1100 (still not the official) but every little bit helps.

KOD.

KonstantinosD, are you talking about the 7x1080-beast? If so, congratulations for that. Must be great to work with.
Did you buy that from Smicha rsp. is he building such rigs for others?

Yes he does! Amazing built quality and can't hear a thing, on rendering temps max out at 46-47C with overclock and dead silent. Xeons help too with CB 2700 and temps on stress around 35! Ridiculous. :) best PC I've had.

Sounds so cool! How much did you pay for it (if it's not too snoopy to ask)?

HI Ron,

Price is components dependent. For basic dual Xeon E5 and 7x1080 is around 10k EUR. 7x1070 shall be 1500EUR less.
