Badger wrote:Hi Aoktar,

I am trying to export an animated panoramic stereo camera to Octane Standalone and it doesn't work. I get the whole scene minus the camera. I tried exporting it as ocs, orbx, animated orbx, alembic, nothing works. I searched the forums, found a few posts that were recommending to export the camera separately as alembic and import it in the octane stand alone scene; I have tried that as well and didn't work. Is there a way to export the animated camera? I need it to use ORC for an animation so I have to have it in the orbx package.

Let me know how I can do it, please. Thank you.
Hi Badger,
usually, when you export the camera in alembic separately from c4d, you have to change the scale from meters to centimeters in Standalone. Maybe your issue is only the scale
If not, please could you share the scene or a part of it with the camera?
ciao beppe
Hi beppe,

Changing the scale from m to cm worked, thank you. But now I have another problem, I have the camera as an alembic file and not as camera in the orbx file. I cannot upload on ORC alembic files. I had the same issues last year during the metaverse competition as well. Isn't it a way to fix this bug so the exporter works straightforward from OctaneC4d to Orbx?

LE: seems to work even without uploading the alembic file. Weird :?

Hi Badger,
I'm happy to hear that you have solved with the scale :)
About ORC, don't worry, it's completely different compared to the Metaverse period. I have just finished to render a sequence with an alembic animated camera imported from c4d with the same technique without issues ;)

Yes. I did some tests and base implementation in a free time. But still lot of fixes/work is required to provide a workable implementation.
Cool. Is there going to be an Octane specific gaseous material like there is in XP? Or will we be able to just throw on the standard XP gaseous material. Just curious about how workflow is going to go. XP can actually render out some pretty sick smoke and fire simulations. Would be killer to get this process sped up with our trusty Octane render engine.

Logical way to wait until OSL comes to volumetrics. XP and others use density texture over lowres voxels. It best matches with a texture support on volumes in octane.

Is not clear? Stacking works as a mix material system but not best choice to implement advanced materials. Just use it on purpose. You'll see what i mean after played a bit.

My Live Viewer stills says "Live Viewer 3.00 Alpha 10.1" although completely erased everything from the plugin folder before updating.
Has the name just hasn't been changed yet, or am I doing something wrong?
Other than that, everything seems to work! :)
