I also have this problem. Standalone.
2 Titan X in SLI mode and without switching to single cards and changing priorities or off doesn't help.
Driver 364.72 on a 5960X with 64 RAM on Windows 10. Latest Alpha build 8 I tried. Happens on Catmull Clarked, raw, or displaced geometry. It also leaves the card in a funny state, where it needs a total switch off.
It fails sometimes earlier < 40 Million or it renders but ultimately fails. Cards are not overheating, I checked and checked with various hardware monitoring programs.

Yes SLI should be OFF for Octane. But on the original topic question still stands WHY do we have that limit 39-40Mil polys limit. Wasn't one of 3.0 features/pillars been to have "unlimited" polycount ? Can we get Otoy guys to clarify this issue.
