I'm curious about this as well. A quick search of the Jawset forums seems to indicate that it's currently not possible to export OpenVDB from TFD... but hopefully it's on the radar for the "upcoming"(??) 2.0 release.

(Put air-quotes around "upcoming" because there hasn't been any indication of a release date  )

I asked almost a year ago about multi GPU support (like in octane) and was told it might be in the next release. I'm not optimistic for this plugin I'm afraid.

I'm sure Juanjo is already done for the day and/or asleep.... seriously guys, I'm on the edge of my effing seat here, since playing with volumes a couple hours... I thought he said something a ways back about Octane v3 plug being able to tap into what is coming with new LW volumetrics, whenever that arrives... Did I dream that, or is this going to be for real?

Hi again,
i would have some little questions about the future V3 plugin:
- Is it possible to run both versions ( V2.2 & V3) on the same lightwave session, without desinstalling the V2 version to try the V3 ( or is it a workaround with replacing the LW config files)?
- Will TurbulentFD volumes be directly renderable inside LW, as Marcus talked about the TFD format compatibility ?
- idem for the future LW2016 volumetrics system ( i gather yes )
Thanks

TurbulenceFD cannot export openVDB files...so it's a no go
He plans to possibly implement it in the next release paid release i.e. Version 2.....but seeing as particle advection was promised for 3 years and never implemented....I wouldn't hold my breath waiting

Nope, you can't run the 2.2 and 3.0 plugin in the same LightWave. You need two LW installs to run both versions.

I am in contact with the TurbulenceFD developres, lets see if the Octane 3 plugin could support it soon ;) ... the same with the future LW 2016 volumetrics system.

using it to render stuff done in TFD is about the only reason I can see to upgrade at the moment. :) depending of cost of course
