What kind of "filter"?
I have little experience with animations (still getting there), but isn't that kind of work done in compositing software? I agree with face. Asking to integrate stuff in a renderer that is usually done by other kind of software, it's kinda unrealistic and doesn't help. There's a ton of other stuff way more important and needed.

This renders final render! , it will help to create artistic images
not everyone can or can not work in AE or Fusion
I do not understand what it is you do not like? such a filter, is very common in architecture

Ok, I looked better at the picture and it seems you mean a wireframe overlay "filter"? That's not a top priority in the short term IMO, as it can be done with your 3D app & image manipulation software. You probably don't need AE for that?
For a renderer, strictly needed filters are those concerning the camera.

yes it is a filter frame (pencil shading)
I just wanted to write the idea for the future, even though in octane 2.0, but it is so necessary to us architects )

so am i and in case noone else told you, sketch filters look cheep and are avoided by good architechts. either make real sketch or use abstract render. if you lack drawing skill, but still want a sketch, you can always print out a render and use transparent paper to draw over renderElvissuperstar007 wrote:I am an architect and we often want to show the project as a picture, it is a very useful feature
besides, if you really want this, you can use photoshop or after effects to create that, you dont need octane

Im sorry.. But this is the type of features I hope the coders doesnt spend their time on :/ There are programs made for just this kind of post effects, and why does all applications need to be able to do everything?
If I wanted to wish for future features the list would look like this:
Timeline (Either import camera/Light animation, or being able to set keyframes and animated parameters for these kind of objects)
Animated parameters for materials (Image sequences as textures etc.)
Pointoven/Geocache Import (Being able to import animation to objects)
Support for more output file formats than .png (.exr etc, would be nice)
Keyable parameters imported meshes (SRT + being able to change pivot)
Being able to save out passes like depth, shadow, spec etc. (I know this is possible to host app, but its impossible to match Octanes beautiful DOF).
New materials like SSS etc.
Octane is a render powerhouse. Unfortunately what takes longest time right now is importing/exporting geometry for it. If Octane supported plotted/baked animation (whole scene in a timeline) it would be a serious threat to other render engines. Also when it works with animation, we will have not only camera motionblur, but excellent motionblur for all the meshes aswell
So sorry, this is just a big -1 for me.

I understand, but I judge from the architectural point of view.
These methods are often used for architectural purposes, I think in octane, too, must be such a function. let it be in the future, not right now

Just do it in post. I am confused as to why it has to be one pass directly out of the renderer? If you can't work in a compositing program that doesn't mean all other programs have to change to meet your needs that means you need to get your compositing in order.
The best way to do it even if Octane added this feature would be to get a True line renderer, render out the lines, render in Octane and composite them together.

the final render is there such a function, and she's wonderful. What she's stopping you? do not, do not use, I would like to see it in future versions of the 2.0 .. 3.0 for that I'll buy octane
Recalling once again I write from the perspective of an architect, rather than rendering the rolling balls in the animation.
This function will help in creating posters
Why put a minus! specialty is different, this presentation is useful to architects or designers

Ask any architect .. you will need to use this feature? He will answer ... YES! useful
