Hi Charles,

I love your comparing renderings.. do not get me wrong.

I think it is hard though to compare when 'we' are not able to compare the different hardware to start with.
If you are comparing 3 machines with CPU... to start with it would be saying a little bit more comparing it with 3 machines with GPU's.
And even then, it says little. Coz' it is easily to have completeley different CPU and GPU builds for 3 machines and then try to compare.

Also to compare we should take as much in perspective as we can... then we should compare a lot of different rendering scenes... outdoor, indoor, little and a lot of geometry, etcetera, etcetera.
And the skills in Vray and Octane should be the same to make an optimal, also time efficient, rendering. And as you are sayin your Vray skills are most likely better then in Octane.
Tweaking the materials has lot of effect on the result of the visual, but also in rendering times. The same goes for lighting and other settings.

If I would Render a outdoor archviz in Vray and Octane with my builds, I probably could say exactly the same as you with switching Octane and Vray... lol

So, nice to see the comparison, but imo hard to say wise things about it.

All I can say here is we need post like this to make the forum more active. It does not have to make perfect sense as long as it entertains and gets people together to discuss things. Thumb up for the idea.
