Can the geometry limit be removed easily? I need to work with Octane when doing this kind of renderings.
http://home.otoy.com/otoy-unveils-octan ... -renderer/ indicates this limitation will be lifted.

Hi Face_off,
yes thats true, but looking at the last release cycles this will take at least a few months...
I would prefer to offer my automotive clients my services based on octane these days.
So I just need to know where this limitation comes from. When it is only an integer value within the octane code, so please change this before 3.0 comes out.
Whtat is the geometry limitation exactly? Is it 20.000 polys now? Then please raise it to 80.000. Then I can start to work with 2 cars in a scene with complete interior and exterior and textures and high res (image buffer). That would do the job for now.
Cheers

By the way Face_off:
You are doing a great job with the Rhino Plugin Development.
Aoktar and you are the developers of the year in my view.

At a guess I would say the current triangle limit is incredibly hard to remove - otherwise Otoy would have done it already. The Current Octane triangle limit is somewhere around 10 million (I cannot remember the exact number - but it is documented in these forums somewhere). I'm not sure where your 20 thousand limit is coming from! There is also a plugin limit, which is set in the plugin settings and defaults to 10 million (but setting it higher than the Octane limit will not help you).

sorry I have meant 20.000.0000
Yes I saw the plugin limitation but as you said raising this value will work until the internal Octane limit will be reached.
