FOV problems in Archicad-animation

OK, so let's wait a bit.
So far my customer is quiet, so no need to hurry. If the things gets urgent I'll set all cams to a fix fov.

I could try the Maxwell Plugin if IT adopts the fov, should I?

Hi Artur - buy all means try the Maxwell plugin - but even if it smoothly interpolates the fov, that won't help resolve the issue in the Octane plugin. It might be more benefit if you gave Graphisoft a nudge to answer the question I posted.

My thought is: if it works in Maxwell it should be theoretically possible for Octane, too.
I think they both work a bit similar as plugins (export/material conversion etc.)...

Is Maxwell an ArchiCAD Photorenderer plugin? If so, it's worth trying.

Yes, I would describe Maxwell like this.

Here a screenshot how it looks like in Archicad 17:


On the right side the real-time preview called "Fire".
The scene is uploaded, similar to Octane, into the Maxwell plugin and everything happens so far only in Archicad.
If you want to render "properly", the scene is exported then to the Maxwell Render (so there's a difference to Octane):


On the other hand the workflow for animating is again more similar. First you set the render Engine to Maxwell and that's how the settings then look like:


After that, the usual way; Documentation -> Animate -> Photorealistic / don't know the exact english phrases, well here the screenshot


The frames are exported then to the external renderer frame by frame - via the engine defined in the PhotoRendering Settings. So it's the idendical way
like in Octane. And I checked out how it behaves with the fov: it works, fov is definitevely changing! (And it needs an eternity to render of course )
You think we could ask a question @ Next Limit how they do it?

Today I wrote a long letter to Graphisoft support, so we will see next week what they answer...

Hi Paul,

the German support cant't really help us as they are only resposible for Archicad itself and their own addons.

I guess you contacted them already this way, didn't you?

@ Rappet: that would be kind of you, perhaps the Dutch one will be more willing to push the developers!
By the way: may I ask what motherboard(s) you have in use? I'm on the way to configure a little renderfarm...
