That kind of crash happens to me particularly when I am using displacement combined with fog.

@manalokos Thanks for let me know about that, it brings up a new line of questioning!

Hmmmm... So it could literally be a an issue regarding displacements? I'm currently using 1013 displacements (I'm assuming thats a reference to polygons with displacement applied as only 4 materials have this applied) with 1.5 million instances (vast majority being grass and none with displacements.... I think) and 4041608 individual (uninstanced) triangles in an image rendering at 8000x4500px (though it has crashed at test render sizes of 1000x560px) with only 2507.5 MB of 5902 MB used in VRAM at max resolution.

Could any of these be the culprit? If so how and/or why? I was under impression octane could handle scenes of this size. Eitherway I would appreciate any feedback.

Remove the displacement materials to see if displacement is the problem.
